As any car loving, performance respecting individual would, I used to hate the Panamera. It showed a remarkable departure from their old, lightweight and simple roots, and catered to a crown who have much less respect for the cars they drive. But damn, from this angle the car is growing on me faster than their new models are.
As seen PARKED ON THE STREET IN DETROIT. This is what I meant about not caring about their cars.

I'm a big fan of the Panamera. To get that level of performance out of a big sedan is very impressive. I'm a big sedan guy, so... this car rules the road!

i think it looks better in person. I didn;t like it until I saw it in person. The things pretty fast too so whats not to like? its definitely not meant to be the ultimate track toy. Its like the sports car of family haulers

This makes no sense. The Panamera has always had performance covered. You were just too vain.

I used to hate this car as well but over the years it has grown on me, I sat in one a couple years back and was in love with the interior.

It has definitely grown on me. I still don't love it, but I do respect it.

You are not alone. The Panamera is my favorite of all mainstream Porches.
I'll take mine in GTS trim please

If you were a car loving, performance respecting individual, you'd have loved the Panamera almost from the word "Go!"
The car is an incredible 4-door performance vehicle. It's legitimately insane how fucking incredible such a large and heavy vehicle does on a track.

I guess my hatred was misplaced, they seemed so ugly and un-Porschelike at first.

Found it. Yeah, yeah.. it's motorweek, but still. Jump to 3:00 and watch it go through the slalom. This is why I have loved the Panamera since day 1. Who cares what it looks like (IMO).

I actually caught up to a test mule that was fully uncovered right before it's launch and was kind of stunned at how off it felt for a Porsche. About a year or two later, I had the opportunity to drive one and my view changed. It's quite the amazing feat.

I've gone through the same transition. Now if only they'd depreciate like Maseratis do....

Same here. It certainly has its charms, is brutally quick, and surprisingly capable for such a boat. Or so I hear. I will likely never even sit in one.

Maserati depreciation is one of the fundamental forces of nature, I don't think anything will reach that level. (With the exception of V12 non-AMG Mercs)

I long to drive one to see what its all about, but I'm poor and in college, so few opportunities to drive greatness.

I'd never buy one even if I had the money, but I respite performance chops.

I don't have a problem with the Panamera, it's far more appropriate for the Porsche heritage than the Cayenne.

You do make a good point. I'm starting to see the Panamera as more of an evolution of their performance heritage, bringing it to those who have larger families or need to transport more things. The Cayenne is just a nod to the obscenely rich, and if you ask me, tasteless.

I used to work at a luxury car dealership right out of college, and one of my jobs was to follow salesmen to customers houses when they went to drop off the customers new car. This often required going out of state and returning in the same day. One of the perks was that I could pick whatever car I wanted to drive from our fleet of demos and loaner vehicles. My absolute favorite car that I always picked was a Panamera S E-Hybrid. It was Rhodium Silver with the lime green brake calipers and badge shadowing. It was super comfortable to drive, but incredibly quick as well.
Some pics of it for your viewing pleasure. (Pardon the shadows in the last pic).

Those green accents really set off the rest of the car. . . That thing looks amazing.
